What Will We Weave Together?

We are at such an unprecedented time in history. As appalled and at times, saddened as I am regarding the level of negativity I see and read about on a daily basis; as disheartening as I feel as the political vitriol daily unfolds, I am basically optimistic about our future. Because we are the ones who hold the future in our hands; we are the ones who can make a difference; we are the weavers of our own reality. What will we weave together?

Thank you Valesca!

It's up to us to create or new reality, right? We can do this, but we have to act together. I encourage you to go to Submit Your Story at the top of my home page and share how you are acting as one. The more of us that share, the more others are encouraged to share as well - that how change happens.

Would love to hear from you!

I am relatively new to Facebook. I can’t remember how I was introduced to it but I joined an animal group that I thought could help me cope with some childhood traumas I had found no other help for. Soon I discover this was not to be the help I wished. What happened was I found I could not be silent to the grief of the hurting, the lost. God gives me words of love, comfort, and encouragement. I put these words to use. I know they are effective because I am only the vessel. In doing this I see what the world sees, everything, every word, every picture meant to destroy faith, hope, joy. Within myself I can no longer remain mute. The masses are at the most destructive I have ever encountered, focusing on reaching out to defile what has been good within themselves, to their own destruction. It is the bickering that is closing in on them. They are draping themselves in the deepest, darkest, alonest (this may not be recognized as a word yet it is the only description I choose right here, right now) of spaces. Once enlightened, many, have moved from loving to hating. From truth to lies. I believe I have been given the task to broadcast Truth. Simple is truth. Truth is the light in the dark place.

Diane, as I read the beginning of your comment here I felt like I was reading my own handwriting...hearing my own story. I don't know what your trauma was but I, too, suffered a traumatic experience that changed the direction of my life. I struggle with PTSD symptoms still to this day, some 40 years later. I was once a happy, bright, encourager of others but these past few years as I have reflected on the past--as well as suffered the loss of my only remaining parent (my father, whom father, was very close to)--I have begun to feel such loneliness, aloneness (another new word), and anger creep up within me. I see the suffering of this world and the terrible things people do to each other and I think, 'what's the point of all of this?' I do have a personal relationship with God, and it is what keeps me going. His promises are true, I know this. And in him there is hope. So I keep looking for encouragement, for a connection to others who may be thinking and feeling the same way...someone who may understand me and relate to me. Perhaps this Act as One may be a place we can find hope and bring encouragement to others as well. May God bless you today, Diane.

Amy,

This is exactly why I created Act As One; so that we may encourage each other and have a common platform for exchange. As we share our experiences, thoughts, and feelings, healing starts to take place. Thank you for your openness.

So sorry to hear of your losses. As I read your comments, I can feel into the richness of life that you've gained.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing!
