About Act As One

I am a fun-loving woman who enjoys a martini with family and friends as much as I enjoy deepening my spirituality. As a mother, grandmother, and yes, even a great grandmother, I am passionate about doing my part in making our world kinder and hopefully, better. I’ve had the good fortune to work along side of inspiring people, some famous, some not so famous, but what I learned is that we all have the same basic wants and needs; we all have a desire to be happy, clothed, and fed. It is my intention, through this site, to encourage all of us to come together as a global community and to act as one. I hope you’ll join me.
Welcome to Act As One, encouraging unity through individual and group action.
How would we act if we truly believed we are one? If we truly believed that each of our actions affects everyone else? What would we do differently each day? Just like the seeming inconsequential fluttering of a butterfly’s wings can potentially alter the path of a tornado or hurricane, so I believe that our actions, however small, affect all of humanity.
Sometimes we might think that one person cannot make a difference. But really, while one person may not be able to end world hunger, one person can feed one hungry person, and two people can feed two hungry people. You get the idea; every action however small makes a difference.
I want to invite you to make our actions count everyday. Let’s think of our actions, our thoughts and how we move through the world. How do we treat ourselves and others? It might be as simple as intending not to engage in road rage; maybe resolve to help one person each day without any thought of compensation. Or it might be that you have a desire to become a political or environmental activist; or to help someone become more healthy. Whatever your passion is, make it count for the greater good. I invite you to Act As One.
I try to act as one by treating others in ways that honor the fact that we are all one. To me that means recognizing that others are equal expressions of life and are following the path that they need to follow. That doesn’t mean that I have to agree with everything they do or believe. I don’t. Often quite strongly. It means that I try to respect them as human beings and act toward them in a way that affirms our common humanity.
